Tassels are everywhere at the moment from jewelry to shoes to home decor, and turning up in all sorts of colors and sizes. I was in Zara Home yesterday and spotted these brightly colored ones, which got me thinking about how I could use these fun accessories in my own home.
Traditionally used as tiebacks for curtains, tassels can add a bit fun and whimsy to furniture, a doorknob or really anything that needs some jazzing up around the house! Here are a few great examples, starting with a gorgeous green dresser and a couple of simple black tassels. They tie in really well with the rest of the accessories and give this plain piece of furniture an Asian vibe.
This is a more classic look but just as beautiful.
Tassels don’t have to be in a bold color. They look lovely in a monochromatic tone as well, like this cupboard with two simple tassels in the same hue.
How fun would this be in a kid’s room?? I love that each one is a different color and picks up on the art above the dresser.
Or go really large scale for high impact.
You can use one tassel simply on a key or hang a grouping from a doorknob.
And of course they still look great to hold back curtains. I love this mustard yellow against the soft grey fabric.
Tassels are meant to be fun and frivolous, so pick one in a favorite color and find a unique place to add some spice at home. Why not hang one on a basket?
Wishing everyone a little fun with tassels and a happy weekend!
